Music & Culture in the middle of Germany

 

Experience the rich cultural and musical history of Weimar and its surroundings, where not only J. S. Bach has lived and worked, but also Franz Liszt and many other great names.

Lessons and workshops are conducted by Samuel T. Klemke and Oegmundur Thor Johannesson.

- Group transfer from Frankfurt to Weimar on the train on 30.03.2016 and back on 06.04.2016

morning: lessons and workshops

afternoon: small tour to citycenter of Weimar and museums with the Franz Liszt house

 

01.04.2016

Daytrip to Markneukirchen / Vogtland a guitar maker / luthier city. Meet the guitarmakers and their guitars. If you want to buy a German guitar, this is a good opportunity. If you are interested in a special guitar, I can try to arrange having one in Weimar for you.

 

02.04.2016

Daytrip to Eisenach, see the birthplace of J. S. Bach and many instruments and documents of his work and time, including a presentation of historical instruments and a small concert. Visit of the Wartburg, a castle, where Martin Luther was translating the bible from Latin to German.

 

03.04.2016

Sightseeing in Weimar, including the Anna-Amalia library and the town castle, seeing a historic guitar from the 18th century and experiencing a historic amplification / artificial echo.

evening: concert with Thor and Samuel

 

04.04.2016

morning: lessons and Workshops

afternoon: funtrip to spa / swimmingpool with naturally salty water and music under water.

 

05.04.2016

Departure from Weimar to Frankfurt with a group ticket on the train.
